What's New in HyperView 12.0

The release of HyperWorks 12.0 brings huge gains in performance to HyperView. Domain specific results for various verticals and improvements to the overall usability of the product were the major focus for this release. Another highlight is the capability to see animations in three dimensions for a very close simulation experience.
Performance and Graphics Updates
- Graphics: 2 to 6x improvement in animation frame rate, model rotation, & pan
- Import over the network: 2 to 10x speed up
- Large models with flexible bodies: stress contour animations are 4x faster
- Three-dimensional post-processing experience
Simulation Result Types
- The Tensor panel allows plotting normal and shear components simultaneously (full tensors)
- Element forces and moments for shell elements (RADIOSS and Nastran)
- Results plotting along section cuts
- Post-processing based on symmetry helps displaying and contouring a full model, even if the results are only available for a partial model (circular and rectangular symmetry)
- The Build Plots panel allows plotting curves for nodes or elements by selection from the graphics area
- A Layer Filter is available to reduce the list of layers in a result which usually considers all layers (e.g. in/max/sum/average)
- Streamlines can now be animated with particles travelling along the streamlines
- The Ensight result reader supports transient data including mesh deformation (e.g. ALE results)
Result Math
- Various new result math functions have been added
- The full power of HyperMath can be used with Result Math if registered as plug-in
Domain Specific Enhancements
- NVH: Structural and fluid grid participation results and perform response studies by selecting a set of grid to study Transfer path analysis
- Crash: IIHS templates for front and side impact intrusion are available in the Vehicle Safety Tools preference
Solver Interfaces
- Consistently updated result readers for all solver interfaces
- Use of latest libraries (Abaqus, FEMZIP, HDF5)
- Permanently updated in a timely manner
